Best Dash Cam For Subaru Outback: Custom-Fit and Universal Options

#1 · Best Overall

1. Mangoal 4K 2K Outback Dash Cam

• Weight: 5.6 oz
• Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
• Compatible Devices: Smartphone

Best for: High-resolution Outback coverage.

Why it ranks #1: Lists custom fit for Subaru Outback and combines 4K front with 2K rear recording, dual STARVIS 2 sensors, and an included 128GB card.

Dual STARVIS 2 sensors pair a 4K front camera with a 2K rear camera, giving Subaru Outback drivers higher stated resolution at both ends than many front-and-rear kits. The listed compatibility covers Gen5 BS 2016–2019 and Gen6 BT 2020–2025, subject to choosing the correct model.

The IMX678 front and IMX675 rear sensors are specified alongside 4K 2160P and 2K 1440P recording, respectively; that combination offers more recorded detail in the rear view than a 1080P rear channel. A 128GB card is included, so the camera has storage ready for installation. The kit also includes a reading-light-plug power Y-adapter and crowbar. Since the fit is listed by Outback generation, confirm the vehicle version before purchase.

Skip it if you need cabin recording; the REDTIGER F17 adds an interior channel alongside front and rear cameras.

This suits Outback Gen5 and Gen6 owners who prioritize detailed front-and-rear footage and want a 128GB card in the package. Its fit is vehicle-specific, so confirm the generation and version before planning installation.

#2 · Outback-Specific Fit

2. Mangoal Front 4K Rear 1080P Dash Cam

• Weight: 5.6 oz
• Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
• Compatible Devices: Smartphone

Best for: Factory-look Outback fit.

Why it ranks #2: Specifies Outback Gen5 and Gen6 compatibility, 4K front and 1080P rear capture, plus a 128GB card and reading-light-plug adapter.

A model-specific OEM-look housing pairs 4K front recording with a 1080P rear camera, giving compatible Subaru Outback owners coverage in both directions without choosing a universal-fit camera. The listed fit spans Gen5 BS 2016–2019 and Gen6 BT 2020–2025, so generation and sensor-cover style matter.

The included 128GB microSD card provides in-box storage, while the rear camera and its cable support recording behind the vehicle as well as ahead. A reading-light-plug power Y-adapter and crowbar are included, giving the installation a vehicle-specific power and trim-tool setup. Mangoal cautions that the wrong model cannot be installed successfully and recommends comparing the product images or sending a photo of the original sensor cover; check the exact Outback generation and cover before ordering.

Skip it if you drive an Outback outside the listed Gen5 or Gen6 fit range; the ROVE R2-4K DUAL lists broad vehicle compatibility.

A good match for Gen5 BS and Gen6 BT Outback owners wanting a factory-look front-and-rear camera with included storage. Verify the model and original sensor-cover style carefully; this is not a universal-fit choice.

#3 · Touchscreen Controls

3. REDTIGER F7N TOUCH

• Weight: 4 oz
• Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
• Compatible Devices: Smartphone

Best for: Touch-and-voice controls.

Why it ranks #3: Records 4K front and 1080P rear video with HDR and WDR, and includes a 128GB card, GPS suction mount, and touch screen.

A touch screen and voice control give the REDTIGER F7N TOUCH two ways to manage a front-and-rear camera, while its 4K front and 1080P rear recording cover both directions. A built-in GPS suction-cup mount and included 128GB card round out the specified kit.

The 170° front and 140° rear viewing angles provide broad stated fields of view, while WDR and HDR are listed to support visibility in low light. Its 5GHz Wi-Fi can transfer video at up to 20MB/s according to the product title, offering a wireless file workflow. The package includes a 21.3ft rear-camera cable and cable clips for routing, plus a suction-cup mount with built-in GPS. Vehicle compatibility lists cars, buses, minivans, and trucks.

Skip it if you want an Outback-specific integrated housing; mangoal's Gen5/Gen6 kit lists an OEM-look design for those models.

A fit for drivers who value touch or voice operation, GPS mounting, and wide-angle dual recording in a broadly compatible kit. Choose another approach if an integrated, Outback-specific camera housing is the priority.

#4 · Dual STARVIS 2

4. VIOFO A229 Plus

• Memory Storage Capacity: 512 GB
• Compatible Devices: Personal Computer

Best for: Night-detail dual recording.

Why it ranks #4: Uses two Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensors for 2K front and rear footage, with HDR and support for storage up to 512GB.

Dual Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensors and HDR front recording are the VIOFO A229 Plus’s defining combination, aimed at reducing noise and motion blur in challenging light. Its 2K front-and-rear format offers a balanced alternative to kits that prioritize higher front resolution.

VIOFO specifies 2.5 times the dynamic range and light sensitivity of STARVIS for the dual sensors, while HDR is listed for the front channel. Those features target clearer footage in difficult lighting, including night conditions. A GPS module, rear camera, and 6m rear cable are included, supporting location data and a routed two-camera setup. Storage capacity is listed up to 512GB, giving buyers room to use larger cards than the included 128GB-class kits, though the supplied details do not state a card is included.

Skip it if you want an included card ready to use; the mangoal 4K + 2K Outback kit includes a 128GB card.

A sensible option for drivers focused on dual-sensor light handling, HDR, GPS, and expandable storage. Check your memory-card needs before installation, since the supplied package details list no included card.

#5

5. ROVE R2-4K DUAL

• Weight: 4.48 oz
• Memory Storage Capacity: 1 TB
• Compatible Devices: Personal Computer, Smartphone, iPhone

Best for: Broad-fit dual-camera option.

Why it ranks #5: Covers front and rear with front footage upscaled from 2.5K to 4K and rear 1080P; it includes a 128GB card and several mounting options.

A rear camera records Full HD 1080P while the front camera captures 2.5K QHD and upscales it to 4K, giving this ROVE kit front-and-rear coverage across a wide range of listed vehicles. The manufacturer explicitly identifies the front 4K as upscaled, not native 4K.

The listed compatibility includes cars and SUVs as well as buses, minivans, and trucks, making this a flexible option if the Outback is not the only vehicle in the household. A 128GB ROVE microSD card comes in the box, and the stated maximum storage capacity is 1TB. The package supplies both suction-cup and sticky mounts, plus a 6m rear-camera extension cable, giving buyers two mounting approaches and cable reach for routing to the rear.

Skip it if you require native 4K front capture; the mangoal 4K + 2K Outback kit specifies 4K front recording.

Consider it if you want a dual-camera setup with broad listed vehicle compatibility, included storage, and mounting choices. The key boundary is resolution: its front image is upscaled from 2.5K rather than recorded natively in 4K.

#6 · Three-Channel Coverage

6. 70mai T800E

• Weight: 16 oz
• Memory Storage Capacity: 64 GB
• Compatible Devices: Smartphone

Best for: Cabin-monitoring family drivers.

Why it ranks #6: Records 4K front, 1080P cabin, and 1080P rear video, with GPS, Wi-Fi 6, voice control, and a 64GB card.

Three channels record 4K ahead, 1080P inside, and 1080P behind, giving the 70mai T800E a broader view than a front-and-rear-only setup. The listed wide lenses and F1.55 aperture support its stated day-and-night visibility focus for family and rideshare driving.

HDR and switchable infrared for the interior camera are listed, making the cabin channel adaptable to different lighting conditions. GPS, Wi-Fi 6, and voice control add location and wireless or hands-free functions to the three-camera setup. A 64GB card is included, along with a rear camera, rear cable, mount, power cord, and installation tools. Its extensive vehicle compatibility includes cars and SUVs, but the cabin camera is relevant only if interior recording is wanted.

Skip it if you only need road-facing front and rear coverage; the VIOFO A229 Plus offers dual-channel recording without an interior camera.

A strong match for Outback owners who also want cabin footage, such as family or rideshare drivers, and value GPS and voice control. Its three-channel setup and 64GB included card may be more than a two-view driver needs.

Listed on Amazon as: 70mai 4K Dash Cam Front and Rear Inside, 3 Channel Car Dash Camera for Cars, Dashcam with GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Voice Control, Parking Monitor, Night Vision, Loop Recording, 64GB SD Card Included (T800E)

#7

7. REDTIGER F17

• Weight: 5.6 oz
• Memory Storage Capacity: 64 GB
• Compatible Devices: Uber, Truck, Car, Bus, Minivan

Best for: Three-view family recording.

Why it ranks #7: Adds 1080P interior and rear cameras to its 4K front camera, with STARVIS 2 IMX675 and a 64GB card included.

The REDTIGER F17 records 4K front footage plus 1080P cabin and rear video, adding an interior perspective for family trips or rideshare work. Its front STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor and three stated viewing angles distinguish it from the brand’s two-channel F7N TOUCH.

The 150° front, 160° cabin, and 155° rear views are specified alongside WDR and HDR, giving the three-channel system broad coverage with listed image-processing support. The included 64GB card provides initial storage, and 5.8GHz Wi-Fi is named in the title for wireless connectivity. The package lists a built-in-GPS adhesive mount, car charger, cable clips, and a 21.3ft rear-camera cable, supporting a routed installation in vehicles such as cars and minivans.

Skip it if you prefer two-channel footage and a larger included card; the REDTIGER F7N TOUCH includes 128GB for front-and-rear recording.

Choose it if an Outback’s cabin as well as road views should be recorded, and you want GPS mounting and three-channel coverage. The 64GB included card is a storage boundary to weigh for longer recording routines.

Listed on Amazon as: REDTIGER F17 4K 3CH Dash Cam, STARVIS 2 Sensor HDR, 64GB Card, 5.8GHz WiFi

#8

8. IIWEY N6

• Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
• Compatible Devices: Smartphone, iPhone, Android

Best for: All-around side coverage.

Why it ranks #8: Records front, rear, and both sides in 1440P with adjustable side cameras and infrared night vision; a 128GB card is included.

Four channels record 1440p video from the front, rear, and both sides, giving the IIWEY N6 a more complete perimeter view than a conventional two-camera kit. Adjustable side cameras and infrared night vision support coverage around the vehicle, including at night.

The stated 170° front and rear angles and 150° side views help reduce blind spots, while Vision Enhance technology is described as helping capture license plates and lane markings at intersections. Infrared night vision adds visibility in low light. A 3.18-inch screen and included 128GB card support in-car viewing and recording storage; the specifications list support up to 256GB. Compatibility includes cars, trucks, and SUVs, a category that includes the Outback by vehicle type.

Skip it if you want a simpler front-and-rear installation; the mangoal Outback-specific 4K and 2K kit lists only front and rear cameras.

This fits Outback drivers who want side views alongside front and rear coverage, particularly for intersection and nighttime visibility. Its four-camera layout is a more involved fit than a straightforward front-and-rear setup.

#9

9. galphi Q2-SILVER

• Weight: 70 g
• Memory Storage Capacity: 32 GB
• Compatible Devices: Smartphone

Best for: Compact front-camera setup.

Why it ranks #9: Offers a compact universal front camera with 4K recording and 5GHz Wi-Fi, but the listed package provides no rear camera and only a 32GB card.

The galphi Q2-SILVER combines a mini dash-cam form with 4K front recording and 5GHz Wi-Fi, keeping the listed setup focused on capturing the road ahead and transferring footage wirelessly. Its universal vehicle compatibility makes it a potential Outback option without a model-specific fit claim.

This is a front-camera product, so its 4K recording covers the road ahead rather than a listed rear or cabin channel. The included 32GB card provides storage to start with, and the specifications say it supports flash memory up to 256GB. Its package includes an adhesive pad, electrostatic films, a car charger, and a trim tool with cable-hiding clips, offering basic mounting and cable-management pieces for a universal installation.

Skip it if you need rear footage; the ROVE R2-4K DUAL includes a rear camera and records behind the vehicle.

This suits Outback owners seeking a compact, universal front camera with included storage and wireless connectivity. Its listed coverage is front-only, so choose a dual-camera kit if recording the rear window is important.

#10

10. FITCAMX Subaru Uncharted Dash Cam

• Weight: 2 lb
• Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
• Compatible Devices: Car

See also  Best Crock Pot Buffet Warmers: Top 10 Picks

Best for: Uncharted-specific integration.

Why it ranks #10: Its stated custom fit is for the Subaru Uncharted, not the Outback, so it does not serve this vehicle-specific search despite its 4K front camera.

An integrated OEM-look housing places this Fitcamx behind the rear-view mirror with no visible wires or cable routing, paired with 4K front and 1080P rear recording. However, its supplied compatibility is for the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, not the Outback.

The model is identified as HD2-6512 for the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, and the product description urges buyers to confirm the vehicle style and model year. Its built-in Wi-Fi works with an Android or iOS app, while a 128GB card is specified for storage. The front resolution is 2160P and rear is 1080P. Those features may suit the named Uncharted application, but the supplied facts do not establish fit in any Outback generation.

Skip it if you own an Outback; mangoal's Gen5/Gen6 Outback-specific kit lists compatibility with those generations.

This is relevant to a 2026 Subaru Uncharted owner seeking an integrated look, app access, and dual recording. It is not a supported Outback choice: the supplied compatibility names the Uncharted, so Outback buyers should look elsewhere.
