A strong Subaru Forester sunshade should match your vehicle’s model range and cover the windshield closely; it suits drivers who want to limit sunlight entering a parked cabin. Weektic Windshield Sun Shade leads this roundup with a stated fit spanning multiple Forester generations, five layers, and a 360-degree swivel handle. Other options range from a genuine Subaru triple-layer shade to reflective foldable covers and umbrella-style designs.
Fit claims are not interchangeable: some products cover a broad range of Forester models, while KUST is listed only for an earlier generation. Check the listed compatibility and the shade’s shape before ordering, then weigh construction, stated UV protection, and storage style.
The comparisons below distinguish concrete listed features from claims that cannot be independently verified from the supplied product details.
Weektic Windshield Sun Shade is the leading pick because it lists compatibility with Subaru Forester models across multiple generations, five layers, UPF 100+ protection, and a 360-degree swivel handle. Its listing also describes a custom fit based on vehicle scan data and real-vehicle installation testing. If you prefer an automaker-branded option, Subaru Foldable Windshield Sunshade offers a triple-layer construction and specified Forester fit.
Check your vehicle’s model year against the product listing before choosing either one.

10. KUST Windshield Sun Shade

Best for: 2014–2018 Forester owners.
Why it ranks #10: Lists compatibility only with earlier Forester models and claims 250T reflective fabric with a double-layer design and up to 99% UV blocking.
KUST’s model-specific range targets 2014–2018 Foresters, making it a relevant option for owners of those earlier vehicles that many newer-year listings do not name. Its double-layer 250T reflective fabric combines a black heat-insulation layer and silver reflective layer, with up to 99% UV blocking stated.
The custom-fit listing says the shade fully covers the windshield without gaps for 2014–2018 Foresters, giving owners of those years a clearly defined compatibility range. Its double-layer 250T reflective fabric separates heat insulation from the silver reflective layer, with the listing linking this construction to protection from sun and heat buildup. KUST states that it blocks up to 99% of damaging UV rays. The supplied details identify steel as the material but do not provide packed dimensions or a storage method.
- Specifically lists 2014–2018 Forester fit

View on AmazonAvoid the model-range and windshield-fit trap
The main compatibility risk is treating a broad model-range claim as proof that a shade will fit every windshield configuration. The supplied listings differ: KUST names only an earlier Forester range, while Weektic, DMJN, and several others claim coverage across a wider span. Magnelex specifically mentions a rearview mirror cut-out, but the other listings do not consistently describe mirror clearance, sensor openings, or trim details.
A mismatch can leave exposed glass or make it harder to secure the shade, even when the vehicle name appears in the listing. Before ordering, compare the exact model year and trim against the seller’s compatibility details, and check whether your windshield equipment needs extra clearance.
The supplied information does not confirm fit for every variation, so contact the seller when a feature or trim is not addressed.
Understand the trade-off between shade formats
A conventional foldable cover and an umbrella-style shade trade storage and setup characteristics, not just material claims. Subaru, Magnelex, KUST, and several other listings describe foldable sunshades, while DMJN explicitly describes an umbrella windshield sunshade with an adjustable handle. DooGooCoo lists a storage bag, but the supplied information does not give folded dimensions for most options.
That makes it difficult to compare how much space each takes when stored. An umbrella format may appeal to someone who wants a different opening method, while a foldable panel may suit a buyer who prefers a familiar cover shape; the listings do not establish which is faster or more convenient in practice.
Choose by the handling style you prefer, and verify storage dimensions or setup instructions if those details matter to your routine.
How to Choose a Forester Windshield Sunshade
Match the listed vehicle fit
Look for a compatibility statement that includes your exact Forester model year before comparing protection claims. The products range from KUST’s listing for an earlier model range to broad claims such as Weektic’s 2013–2026 fit and DMJN’s 2007–2026 fit; several others specify a range beginning in These ranges are seller-listed and do not establish fit for every trim or windshield configuration.
If your Forester falls within a narrow or older range, KUST may be relevant; if you want one listing covering more generations, Weektic or DMJN claims wider coverage. Confirm the seller’s fit details where your trim, mirror, or windshield equipment is not addressed.
Compare construction and protection claims
Check the stated layers and material alongside any UV figures, rather than relying on a general cooling description. EcoNour lists a four-layer cover and specific UVA and UVB blocking claims; Weektic lists five layers and UPF 100+; Subaru specifies triple-layer protection. KUST lists 250T reflective fabric with a double-layer design, while Wigoo names 210D Oxford cloth.
The products do not provide a consistent independent test method, so their protection numbers are not directly comparable proof of performance. Buyers prioritizing a stated layer count can compare Weektic, EcoNour, and Subaru; those who prefer a named fabric specification can consider KUST or Wigoo.
Treat the figures as listing claims.
Choose a handling and storage style
Consider how you want to open, position, and store the shade, because the formats and included items vary. DMJN is explicitly an umbrella-style sunshade with an adjustable handle, while many other listings describe foldable covers. DooGooCoo lists a storage bag, and Magnelex specifies a 59-by-31-inch shade; Weektic lists a 14.76-by-3.5-inch product dimension, though the listings do not consistently clarify whether dimensions describe the stored or deployed shade.
An umbrella format may suit someone who prefers that opening style, while a foldable cover may suit a driver used to panel-style shades. If trunk or door-pocket space matters, verify packed dimensions before buying rather than assuming the listed measurements describe storage size.
Which Forester Sunshade Should You Choose?
Choose Weektic Windshield Sun Shade if you want a broad stated Forester fit plus five layers, UPF 100+, and a swivel handle. Choose Magnelex Windshield Sun Shade if a specified rearview mirror cut-out, 99% UV-blocking claim, and listed 59-by-31-inch dimensions are important. For an automaker-branded option, Subaru Foldable Windshield Sunshade lists triple-layer protection.
DooGooCoo Windshield Sun Shade is a practical match if a storage bag and a stated two-year manufacturer warranty matter to your decision. For an umbrella-style format, consider DMJN Umbrella Sun Shade, whose listing also includes an adjustable handle.
If your Forester is an earlier model, check KUST Windshield Sun Shade’s narrower compatibility statement. In every case, confirm exact fit before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I confirm a windshield sunshade will clear my Forester’s rearview mirror and sensors?
Check the listing for your Forester’s model year and any stated mirror or sensor cut-outs, then compare its shape with your windshield’s layout. If the listing does not address your mirror or sensors, ask the seller before ordering. Confirm the shade can sit in place without pressing against or obstructing equipment.
Should the reflective side of a windshield sunshade face inward or outward?
Place the reflective side toward the windshield, facing outward from the cabin, so it reflects sunlight before it enters the vehicle. Follow the product’s own instructions if they specify a different orientation. If the listing does not clarify, check with the seller rather than assuming both sides perform the same way.
How should I store a folded or umbrella-style sunshade when it is not in use?
Follow the included folding or closing instructions, and use the storage bag if one is supplied. Keep the shade secured in a place where it will not obstruct your view or interfere with driving controls. Avoid forcing folds or leaving an umbrella-style shade open in the cabin.
How do I confirm a sunshade fits my Forester’s model year?
Match your vehicle’s exact model year to the years stated in the product listing before ordering. Compatibility ranges vary: some listings cover a broad span, while others name a narrower set of years. If your year is missing or the fit details are unclear, verify with the seller rather than relying on appearance.
What should I compare when choosing between foldable and umbrella-style shades?
Consider which format suits your routine and how you prefer to put the shade away. The DMJN listing identifies an umbrella-style design and adjustable handle, while several other products are described as foldable. Check each listing’s fit range and storage details, since format alone does not confirm compatibility with your Forester.
Final Words
For the broadest stated Forester fit among these picks, the Weektic listing stands out with five layers, UPF 100+ protection, and a 360-degree swivel handle. Choose the automaker-branded Subaru option if its specified fit and triple-layer construction suit your preference. Magnelex, DooGooCoo, DMJN, and KUST each address particular needs noted in their listings.
Before ordering any option, verify the exact model year and fit details.
